Dowsing for beginners at Wandlebury

What is it? What can you do with it? Not just for finding water, it is used to find pipes and underground features, can help with health problems and reveal natural earth energies. On Sat  14 July we have two, two hour introductions to the subject where you can learn and try it for yourselves. You will be guided by John Baker, a tutor and member of the British Society of Dowsers and a professional water and archaeological dowser. He will touch on archaeologist, T. H. Letheridge’s views on chalk figures at Wandlebury. Join either session  at a cost of £10.00 per session. Numbers are restricted to 14 people per session and pre-booking is essential as places will go quickly.

Midsummer Party In aid of Bourn Windmill

Come and help support one of Britain's oldest surviving windmills by enjoying the summery delights of our Midsummer Party - starting with optional guided walks from Cambourne and Bourn village leaving at 6pm. The party will be held in the tranquil surroundings of the Mill Cottage Garden. During the evening the CambridgePPF volunteer guides will show you the inside of the 'open trestle mill.' Home-made tasty treats, Pimms and Fruit Punch will be provided in the Cottage Garden or undercover if needed. There will also be a chance to win prizes at our raffle - all proceeds raised from the evening will go towards the upkeep of the Mill. Tickets cost £8.00 and £15 for a double ticket. Clay Oven Courses at Wandlebury

There is a growing interest in the use of clay ovens as an authentic green approach to outdoor cooking - you may have seen Clay Ovens being used on TV by Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. Now you can learn to build your own clay oven and experience the fantastic taste of genuine outdoor cooking. Clay ovens are made from a mix of sand and clay on a brick base and are wood fired. It is quite simple to build and experience your own clay oven but it is always easier to be shown how and why. And you will get to taste some fantastic food.Following a successful 2010, Real Clay Ovens will be running one day courses at Wandlebury Country Park near Cambridge from May to September.
You will be shown, hands on, how to build your own oven, how to bake
